Rebecca Tavares, Pharmacist
Rebecca joined the Pharmacy 101 team in March 2013 as a University of Toronto pharmacy student working with Susie. After her placement, she completed a pharmacy internship at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Rebecca obtained her pharmacy license in September 2013, and came back to Cobourg to rejoin the gang. If you don’t see her out front, she’s likely in an appointment providing a travel consultation, administering an injection, or doing a medication review. In her spare time, Rebecca hangs out with her husband and dog, jogs, reads, and travels whenever she can.
Ashley Kelly, Pharmacist
Ashley is one of our full-time Pharmacist. She is knowledgeable in all aspects of Pharmaceutical Care. Ashley enjoys helping patients and reviewing drug medications with the MedsCheck program. Ashley is also one of our Travel Health Pharmacist.
Ashley is currently on maternity leave as she just had a baby boy before Christmas 2019. Enjoy your family time Ashley!
Lulu Gao, Pharmacist
Lulu recently joined the Pharmacy 101 team in late 2019. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2016 from the University of Toronto. Prior to that, she earned her Master of Science degree in neuroscience research, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from the same institution. Who knew spending ten years at U of T could make her look younger than ever!
Lulu believes that community pharmacy practice can significantly impact people's health and lives. She is a new pharmacy owner herself and fully embraces the expanding scope of practice of her profession. By integrating her experience from various hospital and community settings with her ability to research and synthesize her own ideas, Lulu likes to talk to people to help them solve problems related to drug therapy.
Outside of the pharmacy, Lulu enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband. You will find them backpacking and canoeing in the backcountry wilderness during the summer and skiing during the winter.
Jessica Curtin, Pharmacy Technician
Jessica is our one and only Pharmacy Technician.
Jennifer Wegg, Pharmacy Assistant, Certified Fitter for Compression Stockings
Jennifer started working at Pharmacy 101 in October 2002. She is a Pharmacy Assistant. Jennifer is also a Personal Support Worker who previously worked with seniors in a retirement home. This background has helped Jennifer in her career in retail pharmacy. In particular, these skills help Jennifer serve the needs of long term care residents.
At Pharmacy 101, Jennifer manages the compliance packs for the community as well as being involved in various aspects of supplying medications to the nursing homes.
Jennifer is a Certified Fitter for Compression stockings. She is also available to help with your other home health care needs.
Jennifer is a local resident of Cobourg. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband, family & friends. She enjoys camping, bowling, baseball and playing with her dog.
Erin Waites, Pharmacy Assistant, Certified Fitter for Compression Stockings
Erin has been working with the Pharmacy101 team since 2002. Erin was born and raised in Northumberland County and takes pride in being part of a hometown friendly pharmacy. Erin works full-time and takes part of many different aspects of the pharmacy. Her main area though is taking care of the medications for nursing home residents.
In her free time she enjoys reading, camping, and walking the dog. She also takes pleasure in spending time with her two girls.
Melanie Portelli, Pharmacy Assistant
Melanie started working at Pharmacy101 in June 2015. She has been working in pharmacy since 2004. Melanie fulfills the position of a dispensary assistant, while also filling a variety of other positions around the store. She can be of assistance when filling prescriptions, imputing, and ordering.
Melanie enjoys keeping busy with her three children, and cycling around Cobourg. On her spare time she also enjoys watching a good movie.
Bill Robb, Home Health Care Consultant, Deliveries
Bill started at Pharmacy101 in March of 2009. He is the main delivery driver in addition to fulfilling multiple positions inside the pharmacy. Bill assists in preparing community packages, as well as home health care products in the front shop. He can also provide assistance when choosing a walker.
Bill can be seen utilizing his spare time outdoors, by kayaking and surfing. His positive attitude makes him enjoyable to converse with.
Karen McNaught, Customer Service
Karen is one of our main front shop staff member. She has a great smile and lots of heart. Very caring & very helpful. Karen started with Pharmacy 101 in March 2019 but her years of customer service definitely shows.
Karen enjoys spending time with her grandchildren !
Catherine Smith, Customer Service
Catherine enjoys many aspects of the Pharmacy. She helps with compression stockings, customer service and even helping out the Pharmacist in the dispensary. Currently she is busy helping out with the COVID-19 assessments and processing.
Catherine enjoys a good game of pool and playing with her 2 girls.
Melanie Carr, Customer Service
Pharmacy 101 is lucky to have another Melanie! We’ve had good results with this name! Melanie is great with customers and is eager to help out where needed. Plus, she has the best laugh!

Zac Wills, Customer Service
Zac enjoys helping customers when they come in. He is a very cheery guy who gets to know who you are. On Thursday, he can be seen on the road, helping with deliveries too!

Karen Wenchel, Pharmacy Assistant
Another Karen! But this Karen does go by Kare, or Kari too. Karen is new to the Pharmacy world. However, she has initiative and is eager to learn. We are glad to have her join the gang.

Jackson Hake-Volling, Customer Service
Jackson is a part-time employee who is in his first year of College. He’s been with Pharmacy 101 for a few years now. He knows the ins and outs of the Pharmacy. He helps with drug receiving, cash register and keeping the Pharmacy neat & tidy!
Jackson enjoys his basketball & skiing with friends.
Keira Goodall, Customer Service
Keira is a high school student who joined Pharmacy 101 in 2020. She is actually cousins with another ex-employee: Danielle. Keira has big shoes to fill!
